Job Summary:
Responsibilities/Duties:
- Oversee day-to-day operations in the Fixed Wing Department, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and company policies.
- Develop and implement effective scheduling strategies for patrols, ensuring optimal resource allocation and minimizing downtime.
- Monitor and oversee patrol operations, ensuring that all activities are conducted in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements.
- Collaborate with the Maintenance department to coordinate scheduling and ensure that all aircraft are properly maintained and serviced.
- Act as a liaison with Transport Canada, ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and maintaining open communication channels.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure regulatory compliance, including staying up-to-date with amendments and changes to relevant regulations.
- Liaise with clients to schedule and plan patrols, ensuring that their needs are met and expectations are exceeded.
- Work closely with the Chief Pilot to develop and implement effective hiring, training, and scheduling strategies for pilots.
- Review and approve timesheets and per diems, ensuring that all personnel are properly compensated for their work.
- Participate in the development and implementation of the AES Emergency Response Plan, ensuring that all personnel are trained and prepared to respond to emergencies.
- Provide after-hours support to clients and crew members, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
- Develop and implement strategies to recruit and train new personnel, ensuring that the department has the necessary skills and expertise to meet its objectives.
- Manage budgets and base expenses, including rates for aircraft, ensuring that the department operates within its allocated budget.
- Oversee building maintenance, including snow removal, cleaning schedules, and other essential services.
- Represent the company at COSH/AOSH Safety Meetings, ensuring that all safety protocols are followed and that the department is compliant with all relevant regulations.
- Develop and implement corrective action plans, including conducting root cause analyses and implementing corrective actions to prevent future issues.
- Ensure compliance with internal and external audits, ensuring that all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date.
- Assist in the development and implementation of quotes for both surveillance and charter services, ensuring that all proposals are accurate and competitive.
- Work closely with clients to ensure that all maps and patrols are accurate and up-to-date.
- Develop and implement strategies to ensure that all reports are accurate and timely, including annual patrol final reports.
- Review and approve reports before sending them to clients, ensuring that all information is accurate and complete.
- Provide support to pilots flying aerial surveillance patrols, ensuring that all issues are addressed promptly and efficiently.
- Troubleshoot issues with clients, including resolving any disputes or concerns related to reports, mapping, or other services.
- Review and approve invoices and POs for clients, ensuring that all transactions are accurate and compliant with company policies.
- Ensure that all pilots are properly prepared for flight, including conducting regular spot checks of flight tickets and other documentation.
