Job Title: Assistant Camp Manager

MATRIX Camps and Logistics is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Assistant Camp Manager to join our team on a rotational basis for projects across Canada. As an Assistant Camp Manager, you will be responsible for providing support to the Camp Manager and ensuring the smooth operation of our camps in remote locations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Facilitate daily operations and maintenance of camp facilities, including generators, plumbing, and electrical systems.
  • Support the Camp Manager in additional duties outside of your position when needed.
  • Participate in daily Toolbox meetings and contribute to team discussions.
  • Provide hands-on support to the team and ensure the camp runs efficiently.

Requirements:

  • Basic knowledge in Carpentry, Electrical, Plumbing & Mechanical.
  • 2 years of experience as an Assistant Camp Manager or Labourer in remote settings.
  • Level 1 First Aid Certification or equivalent 2-day course - required.
  • PAL license (for wildlife monitoring) - preferred.
  • Valid Driver's License.
  • Physically demanding job. Ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
  • Proficient computer skills. MS Office programs (Word, Outlook, Excel, Office 365).
  • Organizational and problem-solving abilities.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and a desire to help your team succeed.

Qualifications:

  • Previous experience working in a remote camp setting.
  • Previous experience working with Diesel Generators, off-road vehicles, and chainsaws.
  • Familiarity with using a Satellite phone.
  • Trades experience a definite asset.
  • Handy and adaptable.
