Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Specialized Outreach Worker to join our team at WJS Canada. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals with developmental disabilities, FAS/FAE, and/or Autism Spectrum Disorder.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain relationships with referred individuals, providing support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
  • Assess support needs and develop personalized service plans in collaboration with individuals, families, and other stakeholders.
  • Make referrals to community resources and agencies as needed, ensuring individuals receive the support they require.
  • Provide emotional support, guidance, and advocacy to individuals, promoting their independence and well-being.
  • Monitor progress, report on daily activities, and make recommendations for improvement.
  • Liaise with other agencies, professionals, and community members to ensure seamless support for individuals.
  • Develop and implement crisis management strategies, utilizing knowledge of developmental disabilities and Autism Spectrum Disorder.
  • Work collaboratively with the community to locate and support homeless individuals, ensuring their safety and well-being.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary education in a related field, such as social work or humanities.
  • Minimum one year of experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities and sexualized behavior.
  • Valid CPR/First Aid certificate and Class 5 BC Driver's License.
  • Non-Violent Crisis Intervention Certificate and clear physician's note confirming suitability.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality, adhere to conflict of interest protocols, and sign an oath of confidentiality.
  • Reliable access to a computer, printer, scanner, and cellular phone with data plan.
