Mobile Outreach Support Worker

WISH Drop-In Centre Society is seeking a highly motivated and compassionate individual to join our team as a Mobile Outreach Support Worker. In this role, you will provide vital support services to women engaged in street-based sex work in Vancouver.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support to women in need, ensuring their access to basic resources, services, and supports.
- Work one-on-one with participants to assess their needs and provide information on available resources and services.
- Build healthy relationships with participants, cocreate safety plans, and offer additional supports as needed.
- Prepare the van with necessary materials, supplies, snacks, and beverages.
- Perform first aid duties, provide medical referrals, and accompany participants to hospital as needed.
- Provide overdose prevention and response, and respond to critical incidents to maintain the safety of all staff and participants.
Requirements:
- Certificate in a related human/social service field.
- Understanding of the needs and challenges of women involved in street-based sex work in Vancouver.
- Knowledge of Indigenous peoples and the legacy of colonization.
- Knowledge of useful resources for sex workers, particularly in the areas of housing, emergency medical care, detox, and addictions services.
- Class 5 driver's license with a clean driving abstract (for Driver position).
