Position Overview
In the role of Pharmacy Assistant, you will be assigned a dedicated workspace and report directly to the Pharmacy Manager at our Lethbridge location. This position encompasses technical responsibilities primarily focused on the preparation of prescriptions and over-the-counter products, all conducted under the direct oversight of a licensed pharmacist. We are dedicated to delivering exceptional patient care, requiring strong communication skills in a dynamic environment that meets the needs of our residents. Our workplace fosters a supportive team atmosphere where goal-oriented individuals can excel in meeting challenging objectives.
Your Daily Responsibilities
- Execute operational tasks, including: entering prescriptions while ensuring compliance and accuracy; confirming consent forms and patient details; assisting the pharmacist with necessary documentation; flagging medication reviews or professional services; managing third-party interactions and reconciliations; labeling and preparing blister packs; and utilizing automated dispensing equipment.
- Uphold customer service standards promptly, recognizing when to engage the pharmacist.
- Oversee inventory management.
- Carry out additional responsibilities as assigned to support CareRx's mission.
- Outstanding written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
- Exceptional customer service abilities are crucial.
- Availability for weekend and statutory holiday shifts is necessary.
- Professional telephone communication skills.
- Efficient and precise data entry capabilities.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in a relevant field.
- Familiarity with the Kroll system.
- Experience in long-term care or hospital settings.
