About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Sustainability Engagement Coordinator to join our team at the University of New Brunswick. As a key member of our Sustainability team, you will play a vital role in implementing bi-campus education and engagement work that supports our sustainability and carbon neutrality goals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and improve sustainability education and engagement events and initiatives across our campuses.
  • Develop and maintain engaging content for our social media accounts, promoting sustainability and climate change awareness.
  • Assist with managing our Sustainability website and SharePoint site, ensuring accurate and up-to-date information.
  • Track engagement analytics for our social media accounts and websites, providing insights for future initiatives.
  • Develop and promote sustainability and climate change education resources for our community.
  • Establish and maintain a staff and faculty sustainability network, fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing.
  • Connect with our community to identify and share Green and Sustainability Research Champions and other relevant content.
  • Engage with student groups on campus, promoting sustainability awareness and initiatives.
  • Manage our Sustainability Volunteer Team, driving sustainability education and engagement forward.
Requirements
  • Post-secondary diploma in Environmental Management or a related field.
  • 2 years of experience in organizing, coordinating, promoting, and reporting on events and initiatives.
  • 1 year of experience in developing educational materials for sustainability and climate change.
  • Strong social media management and content creation skills.
  • Ability to track engagement and analyze data.
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft O365 Suite applications.
  • Excellent organizational skills with a high attention to detail.
  • Ability to use independent judgment to plan, prioritize, and organize a diverse workload.
  • Demonstrated experience in coordinating and facilitating youth programs, events, and activities within a community setting.
  • Exceptional communication and engagement skills.
