Job Summary
BlueShore Financial is seeking a highly skilled Accounting Analyst to join our Finance team. As a key contributor, you will be responsible for providing comprehensive accounting services to our branches and subsidiaries.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for the credit union and its subsidiaries.
- Collaborate with the Finance team to prepare year-end consolidated and unconsolidated financial statements, associated schedules, supporting working papers, and accompanying notes to the financial statements for the annual external audit.
- Prepare monthly securitization reports and reconciliations, review existing accounting policies, procedures, and update as necessary. Assist with completing year-end CMHC audit for regulatory standards.
- Prepare statistical reports for regulators and other external stakeholders (BCFSA, Central 1) for monitoring, information gathering, and system-wide sharing.
- Collaborate with the team to prepare financial reporting, analysis, and other materials required for Audit Committee and Board reporting.
- Coordinate all fixed asset accounting, including classification, setup, and tracking, monthly balancing, ad-hoc queries, fixed asset budget, and year-end audit working papers.
- Act as a backup for daily reconciliation, identify and investigate outstanding charges and credits.
- Review monthly financial statements for assigned branches to identify anomalies and explain variances.
- Prepare monthly bank reconciliation for BlueShore Financial subsidiaries.
- Assist with the preparation of the annual corporate budget.
- Identify and review current processes to improve operational efficiencies and internal controls.
- Act as a subject matter expert in supporting the accounting team and clients with accounting inquiries.
- Special ad-hoc projects and other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
- Enrolled in the CPA program.
- 4+ years of accounting experience.
- Solid knowledge of Excel and other Microsoft Office programs.
- Understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central is an asset.
- Experience in financial services is considered an asset.
