Job Summary

The Training and Engagement Coordinator is a key position at Northlands College, responsible for initiating, implementing, and monitoring programs that align with the College's program plan. This role plays a significant role in identifying community or industry needs, developing partnerships, and evaluating and adapting programs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Program Development and Delivery
    • Develop and implement programs that meet community and industry needs
    • Conduct needs assessments and research existing curricula and programs
    • Recommend suitable programs and prepare training proposals
  • Community Outreach and Partnerships
    • Establish and maintain partnerships with community and industry stakeholders
    • Identify and respond to community and industry needs
    • Develop and maintain relationships with funding agencies and other partners
  • Program Monitoring and Evaluation
    • Monitor program delivery and evaluate program effectiveness
    • Conduct follow-up and evaluate program outcomes
    • Provide timely reports to the Executive Regional Director and other stakeholders
  • Staff Supervision and Development
    • Orient, supervise, and evaluate instructors and administrative program staff
    • Provide suggestions on staff professional development
    • Verify and authorize staff time sheets and travel claims
  • Administrative Responsibilities
    • Monitor budget expenditures and amend budgets as required
    • Replenish supplies and maintain program resources
    • Provide timely follow-up documents to other departments
Requirements
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Effective time management and prioritization skills
  • Knowledge of modern managerial practices, office procedures, and business communication
  • Supervisory skills in managing personnel, evaluating performance, problem-solving, and conflict resolution
  • Intermediate computer skills in word processing and spreadsheet software as well as corporate systems software
  • Knowledge of adult learning theories and teaching strategies
  • Understanding of northern Saskatchewan and ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
