About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Smith + Andersen. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for managing electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage electrical project plans, including timelines, budgets, and resource allocation.
  • Lead and manage electrical engineering teams, providing guidance and support to ensure successful project delivery.
  • Collaborate with clients, architects, engineers, and contractors to ensure that electrical systems meet project requirements and are installed correctly.
  • Conduct site visits to monitor progress, identify potential issues, and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams to ensure effective communication and project success.
  • Manage and control project costs, including budgeting, forecasting, and reporting.
  • Ensure that all electrical projects are delivered in accordance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations.
  • Develop and implement electrical engineering standards, procedures, and best practices to ensure consistency and quality across projects.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry developments, trends, and technologies to ensure that electrical projects are designed and delivered with the latest innovations and techniques.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in electrical project management, preferably in a consulting engineering firm.
  • Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct electrical engineering teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with clients, stakeholders, and internal teams.
  • Strong technical knowledge of electrical engineering principles, practices, and standards.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with multiple projects and deadlines.
  • LEED Accredited Professional designation is an asset.
