Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team in Kelowna, BC. The successful candidate will be responsible for planning, coordinating, and executing electrical projects from inception to completion. This includes optimizing resources, managing budgets, and ensuring compliance with industry standards and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement project plans, schedules, and budgets
  • Coordinate with clients, contractors, and internal teams to ensure project success
  • Manage project resources, including personnel, equipment, and materials
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards, regulations, and company policies
  • Monitor and report on project progress, identifying and mitigating risks as needed
  • Collaborate with the site superintendent and project foreperson to oversee contracts and budgets
  • Provide technical guidance and support to project administrators
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including forecasting and budgeting
  • Obtain necessary permits and licenses from regulatory authorities
  • Oversee pre-construction meetings to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to field operations
  • Determine required resources, including manpower, equipment, and materials, while adhering to budgetary constraints
  • Collaborate with the prefabrication and design departments to ensure project success
  • Set clear goals and expectations for forepersons and provide coaching and counseling for employee growth and development
  • Plan construction operations and schedule intermediate phases to meet deadlines
  • Evaluate project progress and prepare detailed reports
  • Estimate change orders for assigned projects as needed
  • Manage job closeout procedures
  • Conduct post-project reviews to identify areas for future improvement
  • Develop and maintain professional relationships within the industry
  • Prepare and conduct foreperson meetings for your area
Requirements
  • Electrical Journeyperson certification and/or past electrical project management experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in the construction industry
  • Proficient in project administration and management, including RFIs, submittals, change order management, and progress billings
  • Excellent knowledge of industry products, practices, and standards
  • Strong time management skills, including the ability to multitask and prioritize a high workload
  • Superior IT skills, including a strong working knowledge of industry-specific software, such as Bluebeam, SiteDocs, Accubid, and Microsoft Office
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong leadership, organizational, decision-making, problem-solving, and customer service skills
  • Strong understanding of financial processes and experience managing contracts and budgets
