About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Electrical Project Manager to join our team at Smith + Andersen. As a key member of our electrical engineering team, you will be responsible for managing electrical projects from conception to completion, ensuring that they are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and manage project plans, timelines, and budgets
  • Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders, including clients, consultants, and contractors
  • Ensure compliance with relevant codes, standards, and regulations
  • Manage and coordinate the work of electrical engineers, designers, and technicians
  • Prepare and review technical reports, calculations, and drawings
  • Coordinate with contract administration team regarding drawing reviews, contract administration process, and site activities
  • Prepare and review change notices and amendments to contracts
  • Support the process of accounts receivable
  • Ensure internal project team coordination processes by discipline are complete
  • Prepare and actively monitor a schedule of tasks required to complete the project
Requirements
  • Five or more years of project engineering experience in the field of electrical building services
  • A senior C.E.T. with equivalent experience and abilities will also be considered
  • Strong leadership qualities and ability to work independently
  • Ability to work in a complex environment, dealing with multiple projects and clients
  • Possesses sound communications skills as demonstrated through client and staff relations
  • Demonstrated experience working with other consultants and contractors, and coordination of major projects
  • Knowledgeable about the provincial building code, electrical code, CSA, ULC, IEEE, IES and NFPA standards
  • Possess superb problem solving and decision-making skills
  • Strong knowledge of engineering concepts, methods and standards
Preferred Qualifications
  • A LEED Accredited Professional designation, with Experience implementing sustainable design is an asset
