Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Primary Care Nurse to join our team at Pan Am Clinic. As a Primary Care Nurse, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and promoting healthy living, illness prevention, and health education.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide comprehensive healthcare services to individuals, families, and communities, with a focus on healthy living, illness prevention, and health education.
  • Develop and implement health plans with clients, evaluating success in meeting these plans.
  • Provide ongoing service coordination and link clients with resources.
  • Work collaboratively with interdisciplinary teams to provide patient-centered care.
  • Participate in professional development and continuing education to stay current with best practices and industry developments.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an approved Registered Nursing education program.
  • Minimum of two years of directly related experience in primary healthcare, community health nursing, northern nursing, and/or ambulatory care nursing.
  • Experience with mental health counseling would be beneficial.
  • Satisfactory employment record required.
  • Registration with the College of Registered Nurses of Manitoba (CRNM) and active participation in professional associations, such as the Association of Regulated Nurses of Manitoba (ARNM), are preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Scope of practice as documented in the Regulated Health Professions Act (RHPA).
  • Proficient with computers, software programs, and applications such as Windows, word processing, spreadsheets, and databases.
  • Demonstrated clinical skill in physical examination and nursing intervention.
  • Demonstrated commitment to interdisciplinary teamwork.
  • Proven commitment to and knowledge of primary care and community health.
  • Demonstrated effective oral and written communication skills.
Working Conditions
  • Physically capable of performing duties related to position, including assisting clients with physical and mental challenges during clinic visits, lifting a variety of clinic equipment and teaching materials, and arranging meeting rooms for group teaching activities.
  • May be required to provide primary care nursing services in a variety of clinic settings, including a primary care clinic site, temporary clinics in community settings, the client's home, and/or within a private physician practice.
  • Owns or has access to transportation suitable for the performance of Primary Care Nurse (PCN) duties.
