Key Responsibilities:
  • Hire, Supervise and Schedule Staff: Lead a team of landscapers and gardeners, providing guidance and support to ensure that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Schedule Events and Programs: Coordinate with clients to schedule events, programs, and activities, ensuring that all necessary arrangements are made.
  • Schedule Work: Plan and schedule work for the landscaping team, ensuring that all tasks are completed on time and to the required standard.
  • Plan and Estimate Labour and Materials: Develop and implement plans for landscaping projects, estimating labour and material costs to ensure that projects are completed within budget.
  • Organize and Direct Construction: Oversee the construction of decks, decorative or retaining walls, and other landscaping features, ensuring that all work is completed to the required standard.
  • Maintain Work Records and Logs: Keep accurate records of work completed, including hours worked, materials used, and any issues that may arise.
  • Requisition or Order Materials: Source and purchase materials and equipment as needed, ensuring that all necessary supplies are available for projects.
  • Resolve Work Problems: Identify and resolve any issues that may arise during projects, providing technical advice and guidance to team members as needed.
  • Plan and Organize Daily Operations: Develop and implement plans for daily operations, ensuring that all tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Evaluate Daily Operations: Monitor and evaluate the performance of the landscaping team, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Coordinate Subcontractors: Work with subcontractors to ensure that all projects are completed to the required standard, coordinating their activities as needed.
Requirements:
  • Leadership: Proven leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and guide a team of landscapers and gardeners.
  • Experience: 3 years to less than 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, preferably in the landscaping industry.
  • Transportation/Travel Information: Valid driver's license, with a reliable vehicle for travel to and from job sites.
  • Health Benefits: Comprehensive health benefits, including dental and health care plans.
  • Work Schedule: 40 hours per week, with occasional overtime as required.
