Job Responsibilities

As a Senior Automation Specialist, you will be responsible for providing technical automation support for operations of all types, planned or unplanned. You will participate in the selection, testing, and validation of new automated equipment, making existing systems more reliable, and supervising the programming of PLCs and human/machine interfaces (HMI). You will also support the organizational strategy for bitumen plants, ensuring that essential knowledge and skills are maintained and improved as operational needs evolve.

Key Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with a Bachelor's degree in automated production engineering or equivalent experience. You should have in-depth knowledge of industrial computing, automation, and electrical systems, as well as proficiency in basic Windows applications. Bilingualism (French and English) is an asset.

Working Conditions

Frequent travel within Canada and to the United States is required, with visits to SOPREMA facilities across North America. You will be available according to the schedule set to answer service calls. Mainly office work on a computer, with work in an industrial environment during commissioning, exposed to varied work environments. Protective equipment is mandatory.
