Cardiac Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team as a Cardiac Waitlist Triage Nurse. In this role, you will play a critical part in facilitating the placement of patients who require cardiac procedures/intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-admission screening of urgent/emergent patients using a variety of methods, including interviews, patient history, and diagnostic testing.
- Enter data and update cardiac databases, supporting the administration of the cardiac waitlist management system.
- Communicate high-risk patient and status information to the integrated cardiology team.
- Provide clinical support to patients/families awaiting cardiac procedures/interventions.
- Assist the Cardiovascular Coordinator in tracking patient wait times and stability.
- Ensure timely update, recording, and completion of the database for waiting lists and cases.
- Participate in weekly medical surgical/cardiology rounds and discuss patients with the cardiology groups.
- Provide patient/family-centered support and educational information in a timely manner.
- Notify cardiac and referring physicians of changes in patients' conditions.
- Coordinate with physicians to develop alternative options for patients.
- Contribute to quality improvement projects to optimize program effectiveness and efficiency.
- Graduation from a recognized program in Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two (2) years' recent related clinical experience in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
