We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Program team at Fraser Health. As a Cardiac Nurse Specialist, you will play a critical role in facilitating the placement of patients who require cardiac procedures/intervention.
Key Responsibilities- Perform pre-admission screening of urgent/emergent patients using a variety of methods, including interviews, patient history, and diagnostic testing.
- Enter data and update cardiac databases, supporting the administration of the cardiac waitlist management system.
- Communicate high-risk patient and status information to the integrated cardiology team.
- Provide clinical support to patients/families awaiting cardiac procedures/interventions.
- Assist in the tracking of patients awaiting cardiac procedures/interventions by monitoring patient wait times and patient stability.
- Collaborate with the Cardiovascular Coordinator to integrate tracking of quality indicators and outcomes.
- Graduation from a recognized program in Nursing.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM).
- Two years' recent related clinical experience in the designated clinical area, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Clinical proficiency/expertise in the designated clinical nursing area.
- Ability to complete initial and ongoing patient assessment and provide nursing care through appropriate technical, therapeutic, and safety interventions.
- Ability to communicate effectively with patients, families/caregivers, and the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to promote person-centered care and demonstrate empathy for patients and families/caregivers.
