Cardiac Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Day Cardiac Intervention Unit at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and cardiac device implantation.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and develop individualized care plans to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
- Collaborate with the interprofessional care team to provide comprehensive care, including patient education, discharge planning, and coordination of care.
- Provide direct patient care, including medication administration, wound care, and vital sign monitoring.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care and safety.
- Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare team members to ensure seamless care transitions.
- Current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives.
- Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course or equivalent experience.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with the interprofessional care team.
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion.
