Cardiac Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our Cardiac Services team at Royal Columbian Hospital. As a key member of our interprofessional care team, you will provide direct patient care to patients undergoing cardiac procedures, including cardiac catheterization, electrophysiology, and cardiac device implantation.
Responsibilities- Assess patients and collect information from various sources to develop a comprehensive care plan.
- Collaborate with patients and their families/caregivers to educate them on their condition, treatment options, and self-care strategies.
- Participate in the care and discharge planning process, ensuring a smooth transition for patients.
- Coordinate nursing care, prioritize tasks, and delegate responsibilities to support staff.
- Communicate effectively with the interprofessional care team, including physicians, licensed practical nurses, and other healthcare professionals.
Graduation from an approved School of Nursing with current practicing registration as a Registered Nurse with the British Columbia College of Nurses and Midwives (BCCNM). Completion of Cardiology component of Post Basic Critical Care course, or post basic High Acuity Course, approved Arrhythmia interpretation course plus one (1) year's recent experience in cardiac monitoring or telemetry unit, or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
