About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at the Saskatchewan Health Authority (Prince Albert). As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide comprehensive psychiatric services to children and adolescents in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Mental Health Conditions
    • Conduct thorough assessments and diagnoses of mental health conditions in children and adolescents
    • Develop and implement treatment plans to address a range of mental health issues, including anxiety, depression, and trauma
  • Collaborate with Interdisciplinary Teams
    • Work closely with pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients
    • Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss patient cases and develop treatment plans
  • Provide Education and Support
    • Offer education and support to patients, families, and caregivers on mental health issues and treatment options
    • Develop and implement educational programs for healthcare professionals and community members on child and adolescent mental health
Requirements
  • Education and Certification
    • Doctor of Medicine (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) degree
    • Licentiate of the Medical Council of Canada (LMCC) certification
    • Medical Council of Canada Qualifying Examination (MCCQE I and MCCQE II) certification
    • Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada Certification Examination certification
  • Experience and Skills
    • At least 2 years of experience in child and adolescent psychiatry
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
    • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
