About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Child and Adolescent Psychiatrist to join our team at the Saskatchewan Health Authority (Prince Albert). As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing high-quality psychiatric care to children and adolescents in our community.

Key Responsibilities
  • Diagnose and Treat Mental Health Conditions: Conduct thorough assessments and develop treatment plans to address a range of mental health conditions, including anxiety, depression, and trauma.
  • Collaborate with Healthcare Teams: Work closely with pediatricians, psychologists, social workers, and other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to patients and their families.
  • Prescribe and Monitor Medications: Prescribe and monitor medications to ensure safe and effective treatment of mental health conditions.
  • Conduct Research and Stay Up-to-Date: Stay current with the latest research and best practices in child and adolescent psychiatry, and participate in quality improvement initiatives to enhance patient care.
Requirements
  • Education and Certification: Earned doctorate degree in psychiatry or a related field, and licensure by provincial or territorial authorities.
  • Experience: 7 months to less than 1 year of experience in a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Skills and Abilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work in a fast-paced environment, and strong attention to detail.
