About the Role

EVRAZ North America is seeking a Labour Relations Business Partner to join our dynamic team in Alberta. As a key member of our organization, you will play a crucial part in fostering positive labour relations and ensuring compliance with labour laws and regulations.

Key Responsibilities
  1. Serve as the Main Point of Contact for all labour relations matters, providing guidance and support to management and employees.
  2. Develop and Maintain Positive Relationships with union representatives, fostering a collaborative working environment.
  3. Responsible for Labour Relations Activities, including collective agreement administration, grievance and issue management, arbitration and collective bargaining preparation, and union/management relations.
  4. Conduct Investigations into employee complaints or allegations of unfair labour practices, ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable laws.
  5. Provide Training and Education programs to management and employees on labour relations topics, promoting understanding and adherence to labour laws and regulations.
  6. Stay Updated on Labour Laws and Industry Trends, proactively identifying potential impacts on the organization and recommending appropriate actions.
  7. Maintain Appropriate Records and implement Labour Relations processes that limit liability and support the effectiveness of organizational objectives.
Requirements
  1. 3+ years of Labour Relations work experience required, preferably within a manufacturing or heavy industrial environment.
  2. 3+ years of experience administering a range of Labour Relations activities, including collective agreement administration, grievance and issue management, collective bargaining, union/management relations, performance management and conflict resolution processes.
  3. Bachelor's Degree in human resources, organizational development, management or a related field required, supplemented by a specialized program or courses in labour relations or equivalent.
  4. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, to effectively communicate with employees, union representatives, and senior leaders.
  5. Ability to build and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders, including unions and management.
  6. This is a 100% onsite position.
