Job Title: Healthcare Support Worker

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Healthcare Support Worker to join our team at Alberta Health Services. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide high-quality patient care and support to our patients and their families.

Job Summary:

The successful candidate will be responsible for providing direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming patients, as well as serving meal trays and feeding patients. You will also be responsible for transporting patients in wheelchairs or stretchers and answering call signals to determine patients' needs.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide direct patient care, including bathing, dressing, and grooming patients
  • Serve meal trays and feed patients
  • Transport patients in wheelchairs or stretchers
  • Answer call signals to determine patients' needs
  • Prepare patients for surgery by washing, shaving, and sterilizing operative areas
  • Perform other duties related to patient care and comfort
Requirements:
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) Certificate
  • Nursing Aide Certificate
  • Health Care Aide Certificate
  • College, CEGEP or other non-university certificate or diploma from a program of 1 year to 2 years
  • Experience an asset
Work Environment:

This is a permanent position working in a fast-paced environment with a physically demanding workload. You will be required to stand for extended periods and work under pressure.
