About the Role

The Clinical Pharmacist plays a vital role in ensuring the safe and effective use of medications within the healthcare system. Reporting to the Manager of Clinical Pharmacy Services, this position is responsible for overseeing drug distribution systems, both for inpatient and outpatient care. The Pharmacist will supervise pharmacy support staff and actively engage in identifying and resolving medication-related issues.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive clinical pharmacy services, including medication regimen reviews and medication reconciliation.
  • Conduct pharmacokinetic monitoring and deliver patient education on medication use.
  • Participate in medical rounds and collaborate with the healthcare team to make therapeutic recommendations.
  • Facilitate the orientation and training of pharmacy students and other healthcare personnel.

Qualifications

We invite applications from candidates who possess the following:

  • A Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy or a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an accredited institution.
  • Current licensure to practice Pharmacy in the relevant province.
  • Completion of a Pharmacy Residency Program is preferred.
  • A minimum of two years of clinical experience in a hospital pharmacy setting is advantageous.
  • Strong understanding of pharmacotherapy and effective communication skills.
  • Ability to provide timely and accurate recommendations regarding medication use.
  • Proficiency in additional languages is considered an asset.

Work Schedule

This is a long-term assignment with a full-time commitment, requiring approximately 75 hours bi-weekly.
