Job Summary:

The Engineering Institute of Canada is seeking a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer/Tech to join our team. As a key member of our engineering team, you will be responsible for designing and developing mechanical systems and products, as well as coordinating projects from conception to completion.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluate and select mechanical engineered systems or products for projects, ensuring technical accuracy and compliance with industry standards.
  • Develop and review designs, including sketches and 3D models, to ensure they meet the highest standards of quality and safety.
  • Prepare and coordinate the preparation of documentation, including equipment specifications and datasheets, in various design phases.
  • Assist with the development and review of mechanical drawings, including REVIT and AutoCAD.
  • Stamp engineering drawings as required.
  • Complete and review mechanical calculations for equipment sizing, material selection, and other technical requirements.
  • Prepare and review mechanical equipment specifications, datasheets, and procurement support documents.
  • Participate in project coordination meetings with internal teams, clients, and owner's representatives to ensure seamless communication and project delivery.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
  • Strong knowledge and application of industry standards, including ASME, CSA, ANSI, and ASHRAE codes.
  • General understanding of all phases of project document production and the relationship between drawings and specifications.
  • Ability to register as a professional engineer in the Yukon Territory.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Thorough understanding of mechanical engineering concepts and the ability to effectively communicate ideas to others.
  • Engineering experience supporting projects from conception through construction.
  • Field experience is considered an asset.
