Human Resources Specialist

The Human Resources Specialist will report directly to the Chief Administrative Officer and will be tasked with delivering comprehensive human resources services while ensuring adherence to Workplace Health and Safety regulations.

Qualifications include a Post-Secondary Diploma or Certificate in Human Resources Management, although alternative combinations of education and experience may be taken into account.

  • Thorough knowledge of Employment Standards, Human Rights Legislation, Labour Code, Workplace Health and Safety, and other pertinent laws and regulations.
  • Experience with Collective Agreements is considered beneficial.
  • Facilitates and assists management and personnel in addressing employment issues, including progressive discipline, grievances, performance evaluations, investigations, and compliance with Workplace Health and Safety standards.
  • Oversees the recruitment, selection, and onboarding processes for new hires across various departments.
  • Initiates the creation and assessment of job descriptions, performance evaluations, and analysis of HR metrics.
  • Advises on, develops, schedules, and monitors training and development programs.
  • Offers guidance and support to Department Heads to ensure compliance with legislation, collective agreements, organizational policies, and Workplace Safety and Health regulations.
  • Manages designated projects by gathering relevant information, analyzing the data collected, and preparing recommendations for consideration.
  • Standard working hours are Monday to Friday, 8:30 a.m. – with potential for overtime as needed.
  • Dynamic office environment where tasks and priorities may change rapidly.
