We are seeking a highly motivated and customer-focused individual to join our team as a Cashier at Northern Lights College. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for operating the cash register, providing exceptional customer service, and assisting with various tasks in the campus bookstore and cafeteria.
Key Responsibilities- Operate the cash register and handle customer transactions accurately and efficiently
- Provide exceptional customer service to patrons in the campus bookstore and cafeteria
- Restock shelves and display coolers, clean tables and work areas, and gather and sort bottles and cans for recycling
- Assist with food preparation and catering, and provide support to the Manager of Food Services and the Cafeteria Cook as needed
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards
- Successful completion of grade 12
- Current Food Safe certification (Level 1)
- Previous experience in the retail and/or food industry
- Knowledge of operating a point-of-sale system
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
- A competitive hourly rate of $25.25, as per the BCGEU Support Collective Agreement
- An additional $0.58/hr. in lieu of benefits for temporary employees
- 6% vacation pay paid out with each pay
