About the Role

At Thumbtack, we're looking for a Senior Engineering Manager to lead our Marketing Tech engineering team. This team is responsible for driving customer growth, and we're seeking a leader who can partner with product, design, data science, and marketing teams to develop and execute a growth strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Build and grow a high-performing engineering organization with a strong culture of excellence and speed.
  • Hire and support senior technical leaders to scale the team and achieve aggressive growth goals.
  • Partner with marketing leads to understand their needs and priorities, and work with cross-functional teams to craft a compelling vision and long-term strategy for growth.
  • Set the team up for success by anticipating and planning for infrastructure needs, including backend systems, machine learning models, and experimental infrastructure.
  • Collaborate with other engineering leaders to evolve and improve Thumbtack's engineering culture in a high-paced growth environment.

What You'll Need

We're looking for someone with experience in a senior engineering management role, 8-10+ years of experience building software at scale, and a good understanding of growth strategies and experience building and scaling growth teams.

  • Experience at a growth-stage consumer tech company.
  • Experience with a marketplace business.
  • Experience in building marketing technology (martech).
