Position Overview:

We are currently seeking a qualified Health and Safety Advisor to join our client's team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in safeguarding the health and safety of all personnel involved in residential development projects. Your expertise will help in formulating and executing robust health and safety strategies that comply with industry regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Establish and uphold health and safety policies and procedures to ensure adherence to relevant laws and best practices.
  2. Perform regular inspections and audits of construction sites to identify risks and propose effective mitigation strategies.
  3. Provide expert advice to project teams regarding health and safety obligations and assist in the planning and execution of construction activities.
  4. Foster a culture of safety by delivering training sessions, orientations, and safety briefings to employees and contractors.
  5. Conduct thorough investigations of incidents and accidents, determining root causes and implementing preventive measures.
  6. Engage with external partners, including regulatory agencies and contractors, to ensure compliance with health and safety standards.
  7. Assess health and safety performance through data collection and analysis, preparing detailed reports for management review.
  8. Stay informed on the latest health and safety legislation and industry trends, applying this knowledge to enhance safety practices within the organization.
Qualifications:
  1. A Level 8 degree in Occupational Health and Safety or a related field.
  2. Demonstrated experience as a Health and Safety Advisor in the construction or residential development sector.
  3. Comprehensive understanding of Irish health and safety laws and industry standards.
  4. Strong knowledge of construction processes and potential hazards.
  5. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, capable of influencing stakeholders at all levels.
  6. Ability to work autonomously, demonstrate initiative, and make informed decisions in a dynamic environment.
  7. Proficient problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  8. Professional certifications such as NEBOSH or IOSH are advantageous.
  9. A valid driving license is preferred.
