In collaboration with the Manager of Occupational Health and Safety, this position is responsible for the implementation, administration, and enhancement of our occupational health and safety program across various departments and communities.

Required Qualifications:

You hold a certification or diploma in Environmental, Occupational Health and Safety, or a related field. Equivalent experience will also be considered. You have a minimum of 1 to 3 years of experience in the Occupational Health and Safety sector, which may include administering training, assessing job hazards, and conducting EHS audits/inspections. Ideally, you have experience in a large, multi-departmental organization.

Responsibilities:

  • Support the development, maintenance, and enhancement of the occupational health and safety program and procedures across all business lines.
  • Assist in creating and implementing property-specific health and safety plans.
  • Participate actively in safety audits and inspections to identify deficiencies.
  • Assist in the investigation and tracking of work-related incidents.
  • Support communities in addressing safety non-compliance with practical and reasonable solutions.
  • Provide management with feedback on health and safety through monthly safety reports, including trend analysis.
  • Be available to travel up to 33% of the time during peak operational seasons.
  • Contribute to other occupational health and safety initiatives as needed.
Engagement and Communication:

  • Deliver key messages regarding occupational health and safety through monthly safety discussions.
  • Provide guidance and oversight on health and safety programs to community and operations personnel to ensure compliance with all regulatory requirements.
Training and Development:

  • Assist in the preparation, planning, and delivery of new training programs on occupational health and safety for all staff.
  • Help establish a training matrix at the property level.
