Senior Corporate Counsel, Contract Management

EMCO Corporation, a leading distributor of products for the construction industry, seeks a Senior Corporate Counsel to join its legal team.

With over 115 years of experience, EMCO is one of the leading distributors of plumbing, HVAC, water, and industrial products for the construction industry in Canada.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide strategic and comprehensive legal advice to EMCO's profit units across Canada, the national support center, and leadership team.
  • Offer legal guidance on a variety of matters, including leasing, commercial agreements, terms and conditions, corporate governance, general matters, employment, immigration, mergers and acquisitions, intellectual property, privacy, competition laws and regulations, environmental issues, health and safety, employee compensation, and ethics.
  • Design, review, and negotiate complex contracts, leases, policies, terms and conditions, purchase and sale documents, and other agreements.
  • Monitor, interpret, advise, and train on legislative and regulatory developments.
  • Align the company's objectives, programs, and systems with EMCO's strategies, policies, Code of Ethics, and fundamental values.
  • Create an environment that supports strong and cohesive working relationships with profit unit managers, regional managers, and the national support center.

The ideal candidate must be bilingual, a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario, and have at least 5 years of experience in corporate and commercial law.
