Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Occupational Therapist to join our team at BC Mental Health and Substance Use Services. As an Occupational Therapist 1, you will work with clients who have complex mental health and substance use challenges, providing evidence-based occupational therapy services to promote their occupational performance and well-being.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assess clients' occupational performance needs and develop individualized plans to address these needs.
  • Implement occupational therapy services using diverse intervention approaches, including group and individual therapy.
  • Collaborate with clients, caregivers, and other healthcare providers to ensure comprehensive care.
  • Use case management principles to coordinate care and identify community resources to support clients.
  • Provide education and counseling to clients and families on occupational performance and rehabilitation issues.
Requirements
  • Baccalaureate in Occupational Therapy.
  • Two years' recent experience working in a psychiatric setting with individuals who have complex mental health and addictions issues.
  • Current full registration with the College of Occupational Therapists of British Columbia (COTBC).
  • Eligible for membership in the Canadian Association of Occupational Therapists (CAOT).
