Software Asset Management Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled Software Asset Management Specialist to join our team at the Bank of Montreal. As a key member of our Software Asset Management (SAM) team, you will be responsible for designing, developing, testing, implementing, measuring, and managing processes to ensure the effective management of our IT assets.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the onboarding and unauthorized software processes to ensure compliance with our IT asset management policies.
  • Normalize new products identified in the system with authorized products in the Software Catalog to ensure accurate inventory management.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to assigned business groups, providing expert guidance on IT asset management best practices.
  • Recommend and implement solutions based on analysis of issues and implications for the business.
  • Identify emerging issues and trends to inform decision-making and drive business growth.
  • Help determine business priorities and best sequence for execution of business/group strategy.
  • Conduct independent analysis and assessment to resolve strategic issues and drive business outcomes.
  • Support the execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Build effective relationships and collaborate with internal/external stakeholders to ensure alignment and drive business results.
  • Monitor and track performance, and address any issues to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Design and produce regular and ad-hoc reports, and dashboards to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Break down strategic problems and analyze data and information to provide insights and recommendations.
  • Build change management plans of varying scope and type; lead or participate in a variety of change management activities.
  • Lead or participate in defining the change/communication plan designed to positively influence or change behavior.
  • Provide input into the planning and implementation of operational programs.
  • Develop and document processes, procedures, etc. and/or end-user materials.
  • Assist with the documentation of end-user materials.
  • Assist with training and transition of processes and tools/templates to appropriate process owners.
  • Collaborate in the design, implementation, and management of core business/group processes.
  • Design processes based on business requirements and best practices.
  • Streamline, simplify, and continuously improve existing processes.
  • Document processes (including, but not limited to, process flows, playbooks, etc.) for vetting, communicating, and implementing processes with stakeholders.
  • Ensure all processes meet established standards, effectively utilize templates and tools to track compliance and operational effectiveness standards.
  • Look for opportunities to eliminate, simplify, and automate processes.
  • Maintain current process documentation to ensure availability for stakeholders as required.
  • Support management of processes using established methodologies and tools/system/technology.
  • Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis, and/or streamlined reporting.
  • Develop an understanding of organizational interactions and complexity to engage with the appropriate stakeholders.
  • Provide specialized consulting, analytical, and technical support.

Qualifications:

  • Experience managing IT assets.
  • Experience in process engineering.
  • Experience creating and managing standard operating procedures (SOP).
  • Experience using ServiceNow SAM.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Data-driven decision-making.
  • Verbal & written communication skills.
  • Typically between 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and post-secondary degree in a related field of study or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Compensation and Benefits:

$68, $126,000.00

Pay Type: Salaried

The above represents BMO Financial Group's pay range and type. Salaries will vary based on factors such as location, skills, experience, education, and qualifications for the role, and may include a commission structure. Salaries for part-time roles will be pro-rated based on the number of hours regularly worked. For commission roles, the salary listed above represents BMO Financial Group's expected target for the first year in this position.

BMO Financial Group's total compensation package will vary based on the pay type of the position and may include performance-based incentives, discretionary bonuses, as well as other perks and rewards.
