Your Future Role at BBA

  • Executing engineering projects adhering to IEC 61850 standards for digital power systems.
  • Assuming various responsibilities, including project manager, project leader, and proposal leader.
  • Developing competitive and value-driven proposals.
  • Overseeing project work packages, timelines, budgets, and teams.
  • Creating protection diagrams (logic and control diagrams).
  • Designing substation HMI/SCADA architecture and configurations.
  • Configuring intelligent electronic devices (relays, substation controllers, etc.).
  • Leading testing procedures at BBA's digital power systems laboratory.
  • Coordinating the commissioning of digital power systems.
  • Transferring technical expertise to colleagues across BBA's offices in Canada.
  • Promoting knowledge at client meetings and through the creation of technical documents, blog articles, white papers, and more.

Certifications and Job Requirements Overview
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or a related discipline.
  • A minimum of 15 years of experience in power systems.
  • Willingness to travel to various offices and client locations across Canada.
  • Familiarity with the latest technologies applicable to electrical substations.
  • Understanding of power system communication protocols (MMS/GOOSE/SMV/DNP3).
  • Proficiency in configuring protection relays and HMI/SCADA systems.
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 settings (manufacturing tools, system configuration tools).
  • Understanding of telecommunications (Ethernet networks, PTP, PRP/HSR, cybersecurity).
  • Experience with test equipment for protection relays.
  • Bilingual (English and French).
  • Preferred: graduate degree in electrical engineering or a related field.
