Your Role and Responsibilities:

  • Execute engineering initiatives adhering to the IEC 61850 – Digital Power Systems standard.
  • Assume diverse responsibilities, including project and proposal leadership.
  • Determine necessary telecommunications equipment for power grid automation and protection frameworks.
  • Design telecommunications network architecture for substation projects.
  • Set up telecommunications devices.
  • Perform testing in the BBA digital power systems laboratory.
  • Commission digital power systems at client locations.
  • Act as a technical resource within the team.
  • Broaden your expertise to encompass switchgear, protection, automation, and oversight of medium- and high-voltage substations.

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree or DCS in relevant fields such as electrical engineering, computer engineering, computer science, automated production engineering, telecommunications, or network administration.
  • Willingness to travel for assignments across Canada.
  • Availability for both short- and long-term assignments at client sites.
  • Asset: Bilingual proficiency in English and French.
  • Asset: Familiarity with the IEC 61850 standard and communication protocols such as PRP, PTP, SNTP, MMS, GOOSE, and SV.
  • Asset: Understanding of critical telecommunications system design and configuration.
