About the Role
We are seeking a seasoned commercial banking professional to lead our underwriting team. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 8 years of experience in commercial banking, with a proven track record of guiding underwriting teams. They will be responsible for managing a team that evaluates and recommends conventional and CMHC mortgage loans, nationally throughout Canada.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage a team that evaluates and recommends conventional and CMHC mortgage loans
- Identify inefficiencies in the underwriting process and implement improvements
- Contribute to the comprehensive administration of the portfolio, encompassing ongoing loan management and accountability
- Liaise and collaborate with stakeholders, including Administration, Funding, Treasury, and Accounting Teams
- Assist in training and mentoring the team in credit analysis and risk assessment
Requirements
- Minimum 8 years of experience in commercial banking
- Minimum 3 years of experience working on CMHC Insured loans
- Minimum 2 years of experience leading a team in a professional setting
- Advanced Excel and Data Modelling skills, Excellent MS office skills required
- Knowledge of CMHC policies and corporate lending policies
- Familiarity with AML and KYC requirements
- Strong understanding of commercial real estate markets in Canada
- Expert in financial statements and real estate analysis
Compensation
Peoples Trust offers a competitive annual salary plus a discretionary profit share opportunity. Salary for this position will vary between $95,000 and $110,000 per year depending on the knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience of the chosen candidate.
