Special Care Counseling Instructor

Your Role in a Snapshot:

Are you prepared to make a significant impact on students' educational experiences? As a vital member of our academic team, you will play a crucial role in enhancing curriculum development, supporting student learning initiatives, and upholding academic standards. Responsibilities:

  • Deliver instruction that aligns with module and program objectives as outlined in the curriculum.
  • Evaluate student performance consistently and fairly.
  • Contribute to the development of curriculum and instructional materials.
  • Support administrative functions to enhance the student experience.
  • Uphold the College's standards in all actions.
  • Participate in College and Program Activities.
  • Monitor and review students during practicum and/or clinical placements as required by the program.

Qualifications:

  • Degree or diploma from a recognized University or College in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in instruction, including ongoing professional development.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
  • Meet specific position qualifications as defined in program design and approval for course instruction.
  • Advanced oral and written communication skills, including group facilitation and presentations.
  • High standards of conduct, a professional demeanor, and a commitment to quality service.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with other instructors and staff.
  • Capacity to respond appropriately to the needs and feelings of students, providing equitable feedback.
  • Proficiency in using technology to enhance the student learning experience.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • A credential in adult education or in progress from an accredited postsecondary institution, along with teaching experience is preferred.
  • Current membership/license with a relevant regulatory body is preferred.
  • Interest in pedagogical and multi-modal education approaches is an asset.
