POSITION SUMMARY:

The role of the Instructor is to guide and enhance the academic achievements of students while contributing to the College's mission. Under general supervision, the Instructor is tasked with delivering high-quality education and facilitating student learning in accordance with the established curriculum. Specifically, the Bilingual – Networking (IT) Instructor will be accountable for:
  • Providing instruction that aligns with module and program goals as defined in the curriculum.
  • Assessing student performance in a fair and consistent manner.
  • Participating in the development of curriculum and educational resources.
  • Assisting with administrative tasks to improve the student experience.
  • Maintaining the College's standards through professional conduct.
  • Engaging in College and Program Activities.
  • Overseeing and evaluating students during practicum and/or clinical placements as required by the program.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • A degree or diploma from a recognized institution in a relevant field.
  • A minimum of two years' experience in a related area.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CompTIA A+, Net+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, and core Microsoft Certified IT Professional specializations.
  • A credential in adult education or progress towards one from an accredited institution, along with teaching experience, is preferred.
  • Meeting specific qualifications as outlined in program design and approval for course instruction.

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES:

  • Industry-relevant skills and knowledge pertinent to the instructional area, including ongoing professional development.
  • Interest in diverse pedagogical approaches is advantageous.
  • Exceptional oral and written communication skills, including the ability to present and facilitate group discussions.
  • Capacity to motivate and inspire students effectively.
  • Commitment to high standards of behavior, professionalism, and quality service.
  • A collaborative spirit to work effectively with fellow instructors and staff.
  • Ability to recognize and respond to the needs and capabilities of students, providing equitable feedback.
  • Proficiency in utilizing technology to enhance the educational experience.
