Senior Educational Technology Specialist

Cambrian College is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Educational Technology Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our Teaching and Learning Innovation Hub, you will play a critical role in supporting the development and implementation of educational technology initiatives across the college.
Key Responsibilities- Learning Management System (LMS) Support: Coordinate and provide technical support for the LMS, ensuring seamless integration with other educational technologies.
- Research and Development: Conduct research and develop new educational technology directions based on best practices, staying up-to-date with industry trends and emerging technologies.
- Collaboration and Liaison: Work closely with various teams, including information technology, finance, and academic staff, to ensure effective implementation of educational technologies.
- Technology Support: Manage and maintain the day-to-day operation of technology support within the Teaching and Learning Innovation Hub, including partnership with other educational technology staff and occasional student workers.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with vendors and College personnel to achieve departmental objectives related to academic success.
- Project Management: Synchronize and support high-level projects, propose and recommend procedures, and participate in long-term planning to continually improve the use of educational technology in the academic division.
- Faculty Support: Work collaboratively with faculty to assist them in selecting and using technology to support teaching at Cambrian College.
- Education: Four-year postsecondary degree, preferably in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, Online Learning, Web or Multimedia Development, Computer Information Systems, Distance Education, or a related field.
- Experience: Minimum five years of experience in developing and administering online/blended/web-enhanced instructional content, including experience with course management software, user-centric design, and educational technology evaluation.
- Skills: Excellent planning and organizational skills, solid verbal and written communication skills, highly creative problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Additional Assets: Experience in a postsecondary educational setting and a valid Ontario Driver's License for travel to satellite campuses.
