Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Rehabilitation Assistant to join our team at Baillie House. As a key member of our care team, you will work closely with our therapists to implement programs that meet the needs of our residents/patients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist therapists in organizing and implementing therapeutic programs for assigned residents/patients.
  • Participate in resident/patient activities of daily living, including self-care and meal-management.
  • Assist with resident/patient mobility, including wheelchair seating, strengthening exercises, and transfers.
  • Assist in fabrication of splints and adaptive devices, as well as modification of patient clothing and eating utensils.
  • Report relevant observations to other care team members and complete statistics and records as required.
  • Maintain inventory of equipment, supplies, and wheelchairs on loan to patients.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • Completion of a Rehabilitation Assistant Program or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
  • Ability to deal with others effectively.
  • Physical ability to carry out the duties of the position.
  • Ability to organize work and operate related equipment.
