About the Role:

As a key member of our team at Thomas Cavanagh Construction Limited, the Project Manager - General Contracting will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our construction projects. This includes coordinating with project managers, ensuring timely completion of projects, and maintaining a safe and healthy work environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate project schedules and ensure timely completion of projects
  • Oversee the health and safety of all workers on site
  • Manage financial aspects of projects, including general conditions
  • Lead and implement project plans, working closely with project managers
  • Maintain accurate records and reports, including site superintendent logs and hazard analysis
  • Communicate effectively with owners, consulting teams, and other stakeholders
  • Lead subtrade meetings and monitor team development
  • Ensure compliance with company standards and quality control programs
  • Build relationships with internal and external stakeholders to achieve common goals
  • Participate in business development and contribute to the growth of our General Contracting division
  • Manage, mentor, and train internal staff

Requirements:

  • Minimum 5 years of experience managing projects in the ICI or Condo/Apartment Building industry
  • Site Superintendent training is considered an asset
  • Extensive knowledge and understanding of CCDC Contracts and Construction Law
  • Strong interpersonal skills, self-motivation, and leadership development
  • Impeccable integrity and a willingness to learn and grow professionally
  • Strength in analysis and creative problem solving
  • Experience with COR (Certificate of Recognition) is considered an asset
