Job Summary

The Gift Shop Retailer is a key member of the BC Ferries team, responsible for delivering exceptional customer service and driving sales in our gift shops. As a Customer Experience Specialist, you will be the face of our brand, ensuring that every customer interaction is positive and memorable.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service, responding to customer inquiries and resolving issues in a timely and professional manner.
  • Drive sales growth by effectively merchandising products, managing inventory, and analyzing sales data to inform purchasing decisions.
  • Work closely with the Merchandising team to maintain a visually appealing and well-organized store environment.
  • Coach and train shipboard staff on loss prevention and retail best practices.
  • Stay up-to-date on industry trends and competitor activity to ensure BC Ferries remains competitive.

Requirements

  • Certificate or Diploma in Business Administration, Marketing, or equivalent.
  • 3-5 years of customer service experience, preferably in a retail setting.
  • 2-3 years of merchandising and display experience, preferably in a giftware and apparel environment.
  • Strong sales and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences.
