Company Overview: Paracel Laboratories Ltd. is a comprehensive environmental and Indoor Air Quality laboratory. Our primary laboratory facilities are situated in Ottawa, complemented by an environmental lab in Hamilton and specialized microbiology and asbestos laboratories in Mississauga. We also operate additional service depots in various locations across Ontario.

Clientele: We cater to a diverse range of projects for professional clients both nationally and internationally. Our clientele mainly includes prominent environmental consultants, government entities at all levels, and industrial manufacturers primarily located in key regions of Ontario.

Position Summary: Paracel Laboratories is seeking a Junior Analyst to become a part of our dedicated team at our St. Laurent lab in Ottawa. The Junior Analyst will be tasked with conducting analyses within a specific section of the laboratory.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform sample preparations and manipulations.
  • Prepare standards and reagents in accordance with established methodologies and quality control protocols.
  • Assist with research projects under the direct supervision of the Department Supervisor.
  • Ensure all tests are executed following the established in-house protocols.
  • Conduct analyses and prepare lab standards and reagents for both routine and research-related tasks.
  • Oversee analysis quality control.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the laboratory workspace.
  • Assist in data collection and tabulation.
  • Monitor and requisition laboratory supplies as necessary.
  • Adhere to company quality assurance, quality control, and health & safety policies and procedures.
Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a Chemical/Biology/Biochemistry Technology Diploma or an equivalent qualification with less than one year of relevant experience. A solid understanding of Quality Assurance (QA) and Quality Control (QC) principles, along with Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs), is essential. Experience with ICP-MS is considered an asset. Proficiency in computer applications, including MS Office (Word and Excel), is required.
