Position Summary

The role entails the systematic collection, reception, accessioning, and preparation of various specimens for diagnostic evaluations and reporting of clinical results. The Laboratory Technician 3 is also tasked with identifying and rectifying any unsuitable samples for testing. Depending on operational needs, this position may involve assisting in the training of new personnel and rotating through designated job functions.

Work Schedule

The position requires availability for day and evening shifts, including weekends, with each shift lasting 8 hours. Please note that operational requirements may lead to changes in scheduling.

Essential Qualifications


• A college diploma from an accredited program or successful completion of the MLPAO or CSMLS examination in the relevant field;

• A minimum of six months to one year of relevant experience unless clinical placement was completed in one of the organization's laboratories;

• Familiarity with medical laboratory theories, principles, and practices;

• Understanding of applicable occupational health and safety regulations, including the transportation of hazardous materials, WHMIS, universal precautions, and safe handling protocols;

• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.

As a prerequisite for employment, all new hires will be required to obtain and present a satisfactory Criminal Records Check issued within the last six months.
