Clinical Laboratory Technician Level 3

Position Summary
The role entails the systematic collection, processing, and preparation of clinical samples for diagnostic evaluations and reporting. The Laboratory Technician 3 is also tasked with identifying and rectifying any specimens that are deemed unsuitable for testing. Depending on operational needs, this position may involve assisting in the training of new personnel and rotating through various designated job functions.
Work Schedule
Shifts will include days and evenings, with potential weekend work, operating on an 8-hour shift basis. Please note that the organization retains the right to modify shift schedules as necessary.
Essential Qualifications
• A college diploma from an accredited program or successful completion of the MLPAO or CSMLS examination in the relevant field;
• A minimum of six months to one year of relevant experience unless a clinical placement was completed in one of the organization's laboratories;
• Familiarity with medical laboratory concepts, principles, and practices;
• Understanding of applicable occupational health and safety regulations, including the transportation of hazardous materials, WHMIS, universal precautions, and safe handling protocols;
• Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
As a prerequisite for employment, all new hires will be required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Records Check issued within the last six months.

Preferred Skills
• Bilingual proficiency is considered advantageous;
