Senior Commercial Manager, Renewables

About the Role
  • Develop and lead the commercial construct, preparing and negotiating contracts to achieve business objectives.
  • Provide guidance and subject matter expert advice on contractual commitments and ensure effective hand-over to Asset Management.
  • Support Operations and Asset Management with ongoing commercial advice and provide expertise to project developers and business planning and strategy.
  • Work closely with internal and external legal counsel to prepare agreements for negotiation and ensure timely delivery.
  • Assess key value drivers of economic evaluations for greenfield, Merger & Acquisitions, and new product/services opportunities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in economics, Business Commerce, Law, or STEM degree with post-graduate business degree.
  • 10 years of industry experience in non-regulated energy and electricity generation sectors, with a focus on Renewable Electricity generation.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in deal design and development, negotiation, and economic valuation.
  • Strategic thinking and business acumen, with ability to analyze and interpret economic impact of business opportunities.
  • Demonstrated expert knowledge in developing and negotiating commercial agreements, including Power Purchase Agreements and Joint Ventures.
  • Extensive experience in developing and leveraging relationships with internal and external partners, counterparties, and professional advisory services.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with a team of Business Development, Project Execution, and Operations professionals.
  • Excellent project management and time management skills, with ability to prioritize multiple contract negotiations under tight timelines.
  • Strong collaboration skills and success in working in a matrix environment.
  • Expert knowledge of Excel and MS Office applications.
