About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Project Engineer (Civil) to join our team at Contact Energy, working on the Glenbrook BESS Project. This is a 12-month fixed term role based in Glenbrook, Auckland, with the potential to extend and join other renewable projects across the country.

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and oversee the construction of site works for the BESS project, from earthworks, trenching, civil, foundation works through to buildings.
  • Ensure industry-best safety and quality outcomes across the project.
  • Manage project risks and support mitigation efforts.
  • Coordinate with contractors and ensure smooth on-site operations.
  • Provide regular updates on key milestones, costs, and risk issues.
Requirements
  • A relevant degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent qualifications.
  • 5+ years of experience on large complex civil and electrical projects, preferably in the Power/Renewable sector.
  • Experience in EPC and Design Build contracting frameworks as a Client-Side Project Engineer.
  • A team player and skilled at building relationships and navigating stakeholder dynamics.
