Critical Care Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our Critical Care team at the University of Alberta Hospital. As a member of our interdisciplinary care team, you will provide evidence-based care to patients with critical illness or trauma, often with multisystem involvement.
Key Responsibilities- Provide patient and family-centered care to patients undergoing liver transplant, kidney/pancreas transplants, and other complex medical procedures.
- Work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to provide positive patient outcomes and excellence in patient and family-centered care.
- Participate in the Code Team and Medical Emergency Team for the Walter C. McKenzie campus at the UAH.
- Support the Special Isolation Unit, caring for patients with complex isolation needs such as Ebola.
- Join the Clinical Resource Team, providing care to both GSICU and Burn Unit patients.
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP).
- Previous experience within an ICU setting, observation room, inpatient trauma, or experience with ventilated patients is preferred.
- Certifications, training or experience with ACLS, TNCC, CNA Critical Care Certification, intermittent hemodialysis and/or CRRT, cardiac rhythm analysis, Pacemakers, Cardioversion/Defibrillation, Emergency Cardiac Arrest Management, External Ventricular Devices, and advanced hemodynamic monitoring.
