Critical Care Nurse

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Registered Nurse to join our team in the General Systems Intensive Care Unit (GSICU) at the University of Alberta Hospital.
About the Role:As a Registered Nurse in the GSICU, you will provide evidence-based care to patients with critical illness or trauma, often with multisystem involvement. You will work collaboratively with the interdisciplinary care team to provide patient and family-centered care, while adhering to hospital policy and standards of care.
Responsibilities:- Provide nursing services to patients, families, communities, and populations, ensuring their safety and well-being.
- Utilize nursing processes, including critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making, to provide high-quality patient care.
- Teach, counsel, and advocate on behalf of patients and their families.
- Play a leadership role in supporting an integrated and holistic approach to patient care, health promotion, and maintenance.
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program.
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA).
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification.
- Previous experience within an ICU setting, observation room, inpatient trauma, or experience with ventilated patients is preferred.
