Critical Care Nurse

Alberta Health Services is seeking a highly skilled Registered Nurse to join our team in the Critical Care Program at the University of Alberta Hospital.
About the Role:As a Registered Nurse in our Critical Care Program, you will provide evidence-based care to patients with critical illness or trauma, often with multisystem involvement. You will work collaboratively with an interdisciplinary care team to provide patient and family-centered care to patients undergoing liver transplant, kidney/pancreas transplants, and other complex medical procedures.
Responsibilities:- Provide high-quality patient care to critically ill patients, including those requiring continuous and intermittent renal replacement therapy
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary care team to develop and implement individualized care plans
- Participate in code team and medical emergency team activations
- Support the Special Isolation Unit, caring for patients with complex isolation needs
- Work collaboratively with the Burn Team to provide evidence-based care to patients with extensive burns and complex wounds
- Completion of an accredited nursing education program
- Active or eligible for registration and practice permit with the College of Registered Nurses of Alberta (CRNA)
- Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Health Care Provider (BCLS-HCP) certification
- Previous experience in an ICU setting, observation room, inpatient trauma, or experience with ventilated patients is preferred
