WORK SCHEDULE: 10 Hour Shifts, Evenings, Weekends, and Holidays.

HOURS OF OPERATION: 5 pm – 3 am, 6 pm – 4 am

ROLE OVERVIEW:

All Nations Coordinated Response Network (ANCR), in collaboration with the Child and Family Service Branch, is launching a three-year initiative aimed at enhancing the response of the CFS sector to instances of missing or absent children and youth in care. The Youth Safety Liaison will be responsible for receiving communications from children and youth, CFS personnel, guardians, community stakeholders, and other service providers reporting on children in care who are unaccounted for. This role involves assessing these communications to determine the appropriate course of action, which may include forwarding to law enforcement, the ANCR After Hours Program, or dispatching the Safe Ride team to facilitate the secure return of the child to their designated placement.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Monitor all incoming communications and maintain oversight of the Safe Ride team's location to ensure the safety of both team members and the children/youth involved.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Completion of a Diploma or Certificate in Child & Youth Care or a related field; a degree in social services is highly regarded.
  • A minimum of three years of experience in frontline service delivery, including outreach initiatives; alternative combinations of education and experience may be considered.
  • Exceptional interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills are essential.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with the capacity to thrive in a dynamic environment.
  • Proven ability to maintain accurate records, with prior experience in data entry and report generation.
  • Understanding of Indigenous and multicultural contexts, with demonstrated experience in cross-cultural settings.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Outlook is mandatory.
  • Familiarity with CFSIS/Intake Module is advantageous.
  • Successful completion of a Criminal Record Check, Child Abuse Registry, and CFS Prior Contact check is required.
  • A valid driver's license and access to a vehicle with a minimum of $2,000,000 liability insurance, along with a personal driver abstract, are necessary.
  • Emergency First Aid and Non-Violent Crisis Intervention training are considered assets.
  • Applicants must possess legal authorization to work in Canada.
